The RPS – 5 device enables the connection of two power supply adaptors or batteries in parallel. In case of damage one of the power source, the second power source is actived. It ensures continuous work of powered device or system. The power sources are connected with using a special diodes characterised by very low voltage drop (about 40mV at 5A). So, the current flow between power sources is impossible, and low voltage drop allows to get very high efficiency. It is recommended to use the identical power adaptors. If the power adaptors are equipped with output voltage adjustment, they should be set at the same level. It makes the possibility, that the load of both power adaptors is equal during normal work.
In addition when one of the power sources is loss, the device can trigger an alarm on the „ALARM OUT” output and inform about it by 'beep' signal in the same time. In case of loss of the both power sources, the alarm output is in close state for a few seconds, which informs about powering failure. Alarm can be on or off using a dip-switch connector. The alarm output and buzzer can be configured (on/off) separately.
The RPS – 5 device is also equipped with DC filter to eliminate the interferences. The device is designed to continuous work indoors.
